Date: Saturday, 2 December 2017 03:49 (UTC)I'm not clued in on this "dual house" thing. How do you reckon/figure out what other house you're in? This is legit sounding like Astrology.
I was 11 too! So, you were 11 in...2003! Had you seen the first two movies?
No, I know! They're SO weirdly meant to go together, so the extent that I feel like a lot of it is just a natural fit, not JKR purposefully doing it!

When did you first start reading Harry Potter: I was 11, it was 1998. I was the same age as Harry for the first three books. Also, my first two books don't say "Year 1" or "Year 2" on the spine, so I read them thinking Harry could die at any moment. Those first two were terrifying. I mean they all are, but the age I was and the lack of knowing that there were 5 more to come, I was SO sure that Harry was actually going to die when the Basilisk bit him.
What was it in the books that made you see a Remus/Sirius romance: I started reading fanfic (primarily minnow-53's stuff) right after the fifth book. I don't remember what it was...the hug? The joint Christmas present? Animagi? I had read HP fanfic (I was H/Hr to the bitter end - the end being when Harry smells his Amortentia potion and smelled "something flowery that he thought he might have smelled at the Burrow" UGH BARF [I'm trying to like Ginny more])
I love talking about my HP history (I haven't seen the movies, for reasons I won't go on about because no one asked me..yet? lol, I'm proud of my art, and unapologetic about it. :D NO ONE should be of their work.

Date: Saturday, 2 December 2017 04:26 (UTC)When were you 7? Had you seen the movies?
NO FUCKING WAY!! THE JOINT PRESENT IS ALWAYS PART OF MY "THEY'RE GAY" ARGUMENT. I haven't met anyone who doesn't just think they are friends and got the present for him. Joint present from them is so.gay-mazing.com
I love you. JOINT PRESENT BUDDIES! (it's actually in my comment for this!)

Date: Saturday, 2 December 2017 04:43 (UTC)After the third book, I wrote an H/Hr fic, (sing-song voice) but no one'll ever find it! I wanna brag about my fanfiction.net username back then - it's the kind where you know it's from when ff.net started, cuz, like, you can't get...say the username "Jennifer" anymore, you know? The fic is cringeworthy. Now my ff.net is, like I said, myprettycabinet. I have a decent PG-13 R/S fic I wrote...
I TALK A LOT TOO, AND ABOUT MYSELF UNLESS SOMEONE ELSE CHIMES IN. :D
Alternate name to call me: MPC, short for myprettycabinet

When did you first start reading Harry Potter: It was in 2003. I came relatively late to the game; all my schoolfriends loved it but I didn't want to read it because I was one of those kids who was deliberately edgy and refused to engage with the popular media of the time. What a fool! Of course I tried it out in the end, and the rest is history. I bought Chamber of Secrets on the day that Order of the Phoenix came out. The people at the bookstore were very confused!
What was it in the books that made you see a Remus/Sirius romance: In fact I came to the ship as a side pairing in a fic; hitherto all my HP ships had been between the teenage characters. So this was soon after Deathly Hallows was released, and I was left very dissatisfied with Remus/Tonks (sorry to anyone who ships it!) and Remus' storyline in general. R/S was everything I hadn't realised I'd needed all along, and it's held up on every reread of the book series since :')

Date: Saturday, 2 December 2017 11:42 (UTC)Well it's short for Jodie-Lea, but I really hate it because it's so formal and no one calls me it, and I go by Jo everywhere. But I like the link to JKR ;)
Oh, well I was sorted in Slytherin on Pottermore, and then got locked out and re-sorted as Hufflepuff so I was like WAHHHHT. So someone sent me a comprehensive one that asks like 50+ questions and it came out like 48% Slytherin 46% Hufflepuff, but I really think I identify with both equally. But if the hat asked, I'd be a Snek because it was my first house.
I didn't see PS (SS) until I was about 13 I think, but I had read the books. I don't think I watched the movies until POA came out - i was late to the film game.
I agree, they just compliment one another, and I love the idea that theyre the moon and stars together. It is my favourite connection for them.
[I feel I rambled, I'm so sorry]

When did you first start reading Harry Potter: At the very end of 2000, I think. GoF had been released in October that year over here and I’d gotten it for Christmas from my parents. Of course I’d spent the two previous years refusing to read any HP book at all because it was popular and everyone was reading them and I was one of those annoyingly special snowflakes as a kid. But once I already owned one of the books I was also too curious to resist it and bought PS right after the holidays so I could start reading them in the right order.
What was it in the books that made you see a Remus/Sirius romance: Honestly, at the time I reached PoA I had just discovered the internet, fanfiction and what the slash warning (or rather shounen-ai/boys love, back then) meant. And yes, I was that kind of slash obsessed twelve year old that shipped pretty much every two male characters who as much as looked at each other for more than two seconds, so of course Remus and Sirius with all their (potential) history won me over right away. By the time I was reading OotP I had much more and better reasons to ship them, though. ♥

d.cunning
lol, but the Pottermore test was awesome. I had gone into it with the intention of trying to not let my answers be swayed in order to get Gryffindor. But the questions are so weird, you know? It's brilliant. I got Gryffindor! Then, I wanted to take it again trying not to get into Gryffindor, and still got Gryffindor based off my other answers, but I got Gryffindor again. And I AM a Gryffindor. I always do things that a young woman shouldn't do - like pull up in the middle of the night on the shoulder of the freeway because someone's stopped there, in order to make sure they're okay. I'm also very reckless and can be very passionate about shit and short-tempered in regard to my passions. Though I may run into the black of night on the bike path I live next to if I hear a scream, when I'm the victim, I freeze. I go along with everything the man does out of fear of being attacked for fighting back. It's weird. Everyone asks why I didn't scream or run. Lol.
I don't believe in astrology, but I fit the traits of a Gryffindor in the same way I fit as an Aries. So, it's like your Slytherin is in the house of Hufflepuff (cuz I don't think Hufflepuffs could ever be/want to be Slytherins, but Slytherins are cunning, so it wouldn't be that big of a deal the other way around. (by the way, I was gonna link you to any comment of mine to prove to you what true rambling is, but I think I'm currently proving it already.
And whaddya know? The moon and stars are astrology! lol.
Do you know how hard it is to find people who read the first four before seeing the movie. Do you find that the actors replace the faces you'd always pictured for each character? That's why I stopped at the first movie (they're ALL awful, but HP and the gang have been my best friends longer than anyone in real life, and I could risk losing them to Rupert Grint(?), Daniel Radcliffe, and Alan Rickman fucked everything up with his age. Great actor, I hear he's a great Snape. COOL. Problem is, Snape is meant to be 31/32 in the first book, and Alan Rickman was 60 for the first movie, and since the Marauders and Lily were all the same age, it mae it so Gary OLD MAN and that ugly ass guy playing Lupin (WITH A MUSTACHE AND SCARS??? Nowhere are scars mentioned, and come on.), Rickman's age meant that James and Lily, as the same age, would've been 50 years old when they had Harry. UGHHHHHH. I get very angry about the movies, but I'd still have watched them if it were just a matter of hating it, but it's the faces being replaced in my head that kept me away.
(I'm only being an asshole because I just learned the difference between paying someone a compliment and two people who complete each other: complement. I'm sorry. But they do also compliment each other, lol. I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry - spellchecking is such a low blow, but I don't mean it like that! gah.)
R/S: I LOVE the cellestial side of the symbolism between them. Sirius, the star, is the brightest star in the night sky. The only other body in the night sky is what, you ask? Oh I dunno, only THE MOON. Have you heard my Moon Song? I wrote it as a story of their complementary stories:
Moon Song
You may really like it - at least the lyrics, I spent a loooong time going through celestial vocabulary to pick out words that fit but also sounded romantic. It's a good song. lol. LISTEN TO IT OR GO THE WAY OF CEDRIC DIGGORY. Rowling! (that means j/k, heh)
Now, I apologize for this rambling essay. ;D I'm

Hogwarts House(s): Slytherin Pride, with a dash of Ravenclaw
Confirmation that you are over the age of consent: Yeah, yeah.
Artist, Author and/or Audience: Author! I might possibly have an art partner already...
When did you first start reading Harry Potter: I was older, in high school I think, so most of the books had already come out and I got to binge, which is great because I have no chill.
What was it in the books that made you see a Remus/Sirius romance: I thought they were pretty gay in OOTP, but I didn't really pick up on all the details of the romance angle, mostly because I was just hoping that Remus would be able to take a nap at some point. Unfortunately, he got roped into heteronormativity, thanks a lot JKR. When I started delving into fanfic, I saw S/R paired up pretty frequently, and thought, huh, I guess other people picked up on that too (lmao @ myself). I was down the Wolfstar rabbit hole before I knew what was happening, and I've never looked back!

Hogwarts House(s): Ravenclaw
Confirmation that you are over the age of consent: I'll be 35 in two weeks.
Artist, Author and/or Audience: Author
When did you first start reading Harry Potter: Started reading right before OOTP came out. I was 20 at the time.
What was it in the books that made you see a Remus/Sirius romance: I don't think I did initially. That came with time. I was adamantly not a shipper when I first read the books. It was something I came to with time and thinking about the characters and their relationship and becoming more comfortable with things that weren't actually canon.

Date: Saturday, 2 December 2017 20:47 (UTC)The test I did wasn’t a buzzfeed one, but I believe it’s been taken down now so I can’t link it. But it was amazing and broke down for each house and it explained a lot, but the questions were also really really in-depth and more situational based rather than brave cunning etc.
The faces didn’t really replace the ones in the book, I have the films as one thing and the books as another. Then FanFiction I have other faces because of ages and situation etc, like Muggle AU can’t look the same as Wizarding etc. I know what I mean!
I love that song!! That’s so beautiful!

Date: Saturday, 2 December 2017 20:51 (UTC)AND Tonks is Sirius's cousin who can change her appearence.....new levels of sexual roleplaying, lol...
Also, TBH, I was really happy that Remus died, because he could be in the forest with Harry, and wow, huh, interesting it was James and Lily, and Remus and Sirius. That was really important to me. And means less/no fanfic of him...getting over Sirius in old age. lol. It was that he simply couldn't NOT be in the forest with Harry. Does that make sense? haha.
(and lol on being the contrarian. I was/am often a contrarian. I'm trying really hard to not be one about the Hamilton musical. But, HP wasn't known by anyone in America/my school yet when I read them, so my problem was getting all the contrarian on board, lololol.)

Date: Saturday, 2 December 2017 21:06 (UTC)I used to get Jaime a lot. PISSED me off. Now everyone is Jamie, I don't know where they were before...lol. But I had a friend Carolyn and a friend Fayha. Teachers would constantly say "Caro-line" instead of "Carol-in", and Fayha would get Faya a lot, but the H is not silent in her name "fay-ha". And Whenever that teacher said it wrong, I would just call out the correct pronunciation. I'm sure everyone looooved that.
OMG, I did it again Now you have even MORE to read from me.

When did you first start reading Harry Potter: 20 years old, which is in 2016 (pretty late I know, but my habit of reading just only started when I was 18)
What was it in the books that made you see a Remus/Sirius romance: I was older than a lot of people when they first read the books, so in Prisoner of Azkaban the moment Remus came into the Shrieking Shack and embraced Sirius ‘like a brother’, I just knew.
